Mr. James Adison Eason



Mr. James Adison Eason, 90, of Plain View died Thursday evening April 20, 2017 at Liberty Commons Nursing & Rehab in Benson. James was born July 31, 1926 in Sampson County, son of the late William Martin and Lillie Hawley Eason. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Honrine Eason; brothers, Willie and Earl Eason; sister-in-law, Mildred Eason; and brother-in-law, Charles Kirby.

James was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of Lee’s Chapel Original Free Will Baptist Church where he had served as usher and deacon, a member of the Palmyra Masonic Lodge in Dunn, Sudan Shrine Temple, Dunn Shrine Club, Scottish Rite in Wilmington and was a charter member of the Plain View Fire Department.

He had owned and operated, along with his brother Earl, Eason’s Building Company and had worked with Campbell University.

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Lee’s Chapel Original Free Will Baptist Church with Dr. Brad Williamson, Dr. Jerry Wallace and Pastor Penny Ziemer officiating. Entombment will follow at Lee’s Chapel/Williford Cemetery.

Mr. Eason is survived by his sister, Agnes Eason Kirby of Plain View; sister-in-law, Fay Eason of Dunn; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Saturday, April 22, 2017, at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home and other times at the home of Edith Eason Elmore in Plain View.
