Mr. John Edward Cavenaugh, Jr.



Mr. John Edward Cavenaugh, Jr., 91, of Dunn died Friday evening at Betsy Johnson Hospital. He was born in Sampson County on February 4, 1926 to the late Johnnie and Mattie S. Cavenaugh. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Hall Cavenaugh and his daughter, Eleanor C. Phillips.

John served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. He was owner and operator of Cavenaugh’s Agri Sales Inc, for more than 45 years in Plain View.

A funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home by Thomas Jumalon and Rev. Tom Wagoner. Burial will follow in Devotional Gardens.

He is survived by a son, Russell Cavenaugh and wife Leah of Dunn, a daughter, Ann C. Warren and husband Stephen of Dunn, five grandchildren; Sean Cavenaugh, Michael Cavenaugh, Neil Phillips, Mark and Eric Warren, four great grandchildren; Madison and Russ Cavenaugh, James and Jared Warren.
